Half Empty Glasses

“They were gone now. All that remained were half empty glasses
and the acute silence of that ocean-room. The two of them said
nothing, electing instead to escape for a few precious seconds
to the sanctuary of their private thoughts. Tomorrow they would
  begin another day together.”

1974 Etching
